 St. Ann Family loses home, almost everything
 
 Nicole Byrd and Josh Hall were victims of the “Good Friday” tornado that ripped through the area on April 22, 2011, destroying parts of Lambert Field and damaging some 3,000 buildings, mostly in the northwest parts of the county.
 
Josh and Nicole’s story was featured on KSDK nightly news when Frankie Peltiere of Festive Atmospheres learned of the couples situtation. He contacted KSDK and sent out a distress call to his friends and colleages on Facebook. Many St. Louis wedding vendors responeded with donations and offers of help.
 
It was with great pleasure to take part in the planning and coordination of this beautiful “resilient” couple’s wedding.

Denise phoned Perfect Day Weddings & Events, LLC three weeks before her wedding. Feeling stressed about her upcoming big day she turned to a professional to handle the logistics. Denise said she could feel the stress melt away as we talked on the phone. She wanted to relax and enjoy her wedding day, and that is exactly what she got to do!

 

Ceremony at Bellecourt Place

Denise is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and work as a pharmacist in a Naval Hospital. Don Beliakoff is from Jacksonville, Florida. The couple will reside in Jacksonville, Florida, after the wedding. Their officiant is Pastor Jeremy Drake of CenterPointe Church in Collinsville, IL.

Denise used her parents cake topper from their wedding cake

 The ceremony and reception was held at Bellecourt Place in Belleville, IL

Denise rented votive candles for the guest tables and weaved gold ribbon in Bellcourt Place’s centerpieces.

Denise, Don, and her brother surprised her parents with a replica of their wedding cake in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. Her parents took to the dance floor to dance to their first dance song, “Could I Have this Dance” by Frankie McBride. It was a very special moment!

Sonia Meneses and Greg Hendl were the first military couple granted a dream wedding by Operation I Do, a division of The Gifted Wedding. The couple was introduced to The Gifted Wedding by another St. Louis-based non profit organization, The Mission Continues.

After 12 years of service in the U.S. Army, Sonia Meneses was medevaced home in 2005 from her second tour in Iraq. She was ordered home after suffering injuries in a roadside attack, leaving her with Meniere’s Disease, which causes hearing loss, vertigo, and fainting spells.

The groom, Greg Hendl is an Army veteran who still works at Ft. Campbell as an Ammo Specialist

Sonia and Greg both serve as volunteers and mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Operation I Do was thrilled to celebrate this couple’s love and honor the sacrifices they have made for our country by granting them with the wedding they have always dreamed of, a Cinderella Wedding!
